Forest Nymph

I've been dreaming of creating a cute Nymph character for a while, because I've always enjoyed the magical and mysterious side of such characters. Additionally, the reference I found reminded me of my favorite games I enjoy, so I thought I would take on this challenge! She’s very different from the other female characters I’ve sculpted before, which made the creative process even more exciting and full of obstacles.
The sculpt was done in ZBrush, with retopology handled in Maya. I textured the character in Substance Painter, then rigged and animated her idle pose in Maya as well. The final animation was rendered in Blender. Still images and turntable were rendered in Substance 3D Stager.
This was my first time diving into Blender, and while I initially struggled with the unfamiliar controls, I ended up really enjoying the experience. One of the biggest technical wins for me was learning how to enhance hair shading in Painter using anisotropy maps to modify the normal map—it made a huge difference in the final look!
